Beekeeping business insurance for members of the Gemeinschaft der europäischen Buckfastimker e. V.

The GdeB has concluded a framework agreement on beekeeping business insurance with the company Gaede & Glauerdt Assecuradeur GmbH & Co KG, acting on behalf of the insurers.

What does this mean? Through this framework agreement, GdeB members can apply for an individual insurance certificate for beekeeping business insurance. This is a service offered to GdeB members. At this point, the GdeB is not an insurance broker who receives commission, for example, through a referral. Gaede & Glauerdt provides insurance advice and manages the contracts.

The application is made via GdeB, because it confirms the membership of the applicant on behalf of the insurer as the framework contract provider Gaede & Glauerdt.

The insurance cover that can be applied for by the member relates to general property risks (e.g. storm, theft, vandalism, spraying and poisoning damage, etc.) with regard to the colonies, the hives, the hives occupied by bees and the hive contents (harvest or feed).

The liability risk for personal injury and property damage (liability as beekeeper) can also be included, including product liability (e.g. the sale of honey, etc.) and extended product liability. If desired, beekeeping inventory, beekeeping equipment and supplies can also be insured.
